Benelli has some interesting motorcycles lined up for launch in India, through its local partner DSK Moto wheels. One of them is the new Benelli Leoncino Scrambler. The bike was spotted recently near Pune by Facebook page ScoopMeister and DRC (Dombivli Riders Club).
Paying homage to the original Leoncino motorbike, the new Leoncino is seen in a Motorbike body style. The Leoncino scrambler is packed with several standout design features such as a lean front fender with 3D lion mascot, twin petal discs, projector headlamp with glossy back housing, eccentrically placed instrument console, glossy red paint job with black Benelli badge, cantilevered tailpiece and black done chassis and cycle parts.
The Leoncino scrambler is packed with several standout design features such as a lean front fender with 3D lion mascot, twin petal discs, projector headlamp with glossy back housing, the funky retro classic concept pays tribute to the original Leoncino of yesteryear. The Leoncino Scrambler employs a steel trellis frame suspended by USD fork upfront and monoshock at the rear. Power comes from the same 500-cc twin-cylinder 48 PS motor that also propels the TRK 502. A meaty USD front fork and a back monoshock take care of suspension duties.
The Benelli Leoncino gets its power from a 499.6cc, twin-cylinder engine that is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The fuel injected motor is good for developing a maximum power output of 47 hp along with a peak torque of 45 Nm. The braking of the Leoncino is done with the help of 320mm dual disc brakes at the front along with a 260-mm disc brake at the back. An ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) has been fitted as standard to deliver a safe and effective braking. Already on sale in Europe, the Scrambler will make its debut in India later this year, most probable by mid-2018. Once launched, it will take on the likes of Royal Enfield Continental GT, Ducati Scrambler, and so on. Price is expected to be in the range of INR 5 lakhs.
