Hyundai Elite i20 wins Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY), 2015

A company backed by Nest co-founder Tony Fadell is taking Andy Rubin's startup to court.

Hyundai Elite i20 wins the Indian Car of the Year, 2015

Hyundai Elite i20 has been adjudged the best car at the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY), 2015. Since Hyundai Elite i20’s launch in September this year, Hyundai Motors India has received over 60,000 bookings and more than 32,000 buyers making it the most popular car among Indian car buyers.

This award has strengthened the position of Hyundai in the Indian automotive market. The other cars that were nominated along with Hyundai Elite i20 were the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the new Honda City from Honda Motors.

Hyundai has received 56,000 bookings of Hyundai Elite i20 within four months

Hyundai has been the only car manufacturer till date, to bag the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) for two successive years. In 2014, Hyundai Grand i10 was awarded the ICOTY. In 2008, Hyundai i10 had bagged the same award. This makes Hyundai, the only car manufacturer to have won the ICOTY thrice since it came into existence.

The jury members of the ICOTY 2015 were Bob Rupani (Chairman), Yogendra Pratap (Auto Bild), Rahul Ghosh (Auto Bild), Dhruv Behl (Auto X), Arup Das (Auto X), Rohin Nagrani (Motoring World), Kartik Ware (Motoring World), Aspi Bhathena (Car India), Aninda Sarda (Car India), Bertrand D’souza (Overdrive), Halley Prabhakar (Overdrive), Girish Karkera (BBC Top Gear), Murali Menon (BBC Top Gear), Sirish Chandran (Evo India), Ouseph Chacko (Evo India) and Muralidhar Swaminathan (The Hindu Business Line).
