Korean auto giant, Hyundai had launched the new Hyundai Verna 2018 in August ahead of the festive season last year. Launched at an introductory price of Rs.7.99 lakh, the mid-size sedan witnessed a generation change, with copious aesthetic changes enhancing its visual appeal. The vehicle was launched with two engine options – 121bhp, 1.6-litre petrol and 12bhp, 1.6-litre diesel. Now, the company has introduced the new Verna sedan with a new 1.4-litre petrol engine. The 1.4L engine is available with entry-level variants of the mid-sized sedan – E and EX – priced at 7.80 lakh and Rs.9.10 lakh respectively.

Hyundai India seems to have discontinued the base E & EX variants of the Verna 1.6L petrol as the press release doesn’t have the prices mentioned for these variants. That said, the new generation Verna has been a tremendous success for the South Korean car maker. The new Verna has received over 30,000 bookings in India along with over 2, 00,000 enquiries. Moreover, the company has exported over 10,500 Units of the car in the global markets. The new Hyundai Verna has also won the prestigious Indian Car of the Year 2018 (ICOTY) award.

Speaking about the introduction of the new engine options, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Director-Sales & Marketing, HMIL said, “The Next Gen VERNA is a super sedan and has established its supremacy in the market since its launch in August 2017. The Next Gen VERNA with 1.4 L Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine is the perfect combination of performance and fuel efficiency and showcases Hyundai’s commitment to provide products based on customers aspirations. We are sure this addition will strengthen VERNA’s popularity and offer the customers a wider option to own and experience the super sedan.”
