Next Gen Hyundai Elantra and Tucson to be unveiled in April
It was being reported that Hyundai was planning to launch new Elantra in certain markets in 2015 but now it has been confirmed that Hyundai will most probably be launching the new Hyundai Elantra with Tucson in the month of April this year.
The Elantra will be different in terms of its styling. It will be receiving a complete make over which will most certainly be similar to the fluid structure 2.0 adopted by Sonata. It is also being speculated that the new powertrain options might also include a hybrid or all-electric version apart from the usual petrol and diesel units. Recently, a test mule of the new Elantra was caught testing and its structure was more or less the same as that of the current car. The new Elantra is expected to have a better cornering capability. Some under details of the car are still under the wraps.
There’s one more car which is also expected to be launched in April with the new Elantra and that’s Tucson crossover. This car is also expected to be completely different from the existing models. Some reports reveal that Tucson crossover is expected to be made up of high strength steel which is generally used in large vehicles.
Talking about Elantra, we can expect the launch of facelifted version of Hyundai Elantra in Indian markets before the new Elantra hits the other markets. Looking at the sales figures, we find that the new car does around 300 units in a month but the most dominant player in this segment is Toyota Corolla Altis. Elantra is offered in two engine options as of now. One is 1.6 litre diesel engine and a 1.8 litre petrol engine. Both these models exhibit a 6 speed manual or automatic gear box.
Hyundai’s compact SUV, the 2015 Tucson is gifted with a modern design which makes it visually appealing and also distinguishes it from the other SUVs in the market. The Hyundai Tucson Crossover is the first car which was designed at Hyundai’s center at Frankfurt, Germany . Tucson has an engine which is efficiently designed to deliver power, smooth acceleration and also fuel economy. There are two engine specifications. One is a 2.0L GDI engine which delivers 164 HP and other one is a 2.4L GDI engine which delivers 182 HP.
There is a long list of features to be listed to describe this car. There is electronic stability control which is powered by traction control 2. It is one of the most important properties as it provides road safety which is an important criterion for any car. The braking system is also well designed and it is an anti lock brake system which also has four wheeler disc brakes.
Coming to the Indian markets, Hyundai India is planning a total of as much as six cars in the year 2015-2016. Some versions suggest that new models of Eon and i20 are also expected to be launched by Hyundai in the year 2015. It’ll be interesting to see how much buzz will be created by these cars among the car enthusiasts.
