2015 Kawasaki Versys1000 launched in India at Rs. 12.90 lakhs

A company backed by Nest co-founder Tony Fadell is taking Andy Rubin's startup to court.

Kawasaki has launched its litre-class adventure tourer Versys1000 at a price of Rs. 12.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune price). The latest bike from Kawasaki will be imported as completely built units (CBUs) from Japan. In India, the Versys1000 will be retailed through Kawasaki’s showrooms in Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Pune. As claimed by the company, the 2015 Versys1000 features an in-line four engine that produces 120 PS and 120 Nm torque is tuned to ensure flexibility, an agile chassis that fits well with the dynamic suspension.

As per Kawasaki’s claims, the 2015 Versys1000 offers a wide variety of street riding situations. The new styling given to Versys1000 makes the bike look sporty and the bike is suitable for longer rides due to new accessories provided and number of updates given to the chassis. 2015 Kawasaki Versys1000 launched in India “We would first, thank our partner Bajaj Auto for the continuous support in setting up this showroom. The 2015 Versys1000 sports a wheelbase of 1520 mm and offers a ground clearance of 150 mm and a seat height of 840 mm. The bike’s kerb mass stands at 250 kgs and it also has a fuel capacity of 21 litres. It features a length of 2,240mm, width of 895mm and height of 1,400 / 1,465mm.

Shigeto Nishikawa, Deputy Managing Director, Kawasaki Motors India, further explained, “We have launched superbikes ranging from Ninja ZX-14R, ZX-10R, Ninja1000, Z1000, Z800 and now Versys1000. We have also eagerly absorbed feedback and valuable insight from customers and put every effort to raise ourselves to be a higher and superb level of service provider to customers. We have recently offered a special price for the Z800 till the end of March due to the effort taken by our Indian colleagues. With those factors considered, we are targeting to grow by 50% over the last year in this year.” Kawasaki Versys1000 Performance bikes are seeing a lot of demand in India. A lot of performance bike makers are entering the Indian market to cash on the growing opportunity.
