Mahindra has launched the KUV100 Trip, a new edition of the KUV100 hatchback that is targeted at fleet operators and cab aggregators. Prices for the KUV100 Trip start at Rs 5.16 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and top off at Rs 5.42 lakh. Fascinatingly, the KUV100 Trip debuts a petrol-CNG alternative on the Mahindra small car. This ‘Bi-fuel’ version uses the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine as the standard model and makes 82hp when running on petrol and 70hp when running on CNG. The CNG cylinder that’s stowed in the boot has a 60-litre volume. The other power train of choice is the 77hp, 1.2-litre diesel engine that’s shared with the standard car.

The KUV100 Trip is offered in a single variant and is based on the pre-facelift E2 version of the hatchback. Air-conditioning, power steering and within adjustable back-view mirrors are among the few creature comforts that are part of the package. ABS is standard and, in line with government guidelines for commercial vehicles, the KUV100 Trip also comes with an 80kph speed limiter.
The petrol-CNG Trip is on offer in five- and 6-seat guises while the diesel will only be sold in six-seat form. To make the KUV100 Trip a more enticing option for fleet buyers, Mahindra will offer an attractively-priced annual maintenance contracts that works out to about Rs 0.35-0.40 per kilometre. Mahindra will also offer the option to upgrade the standard warranty to 5 years.
