The McLaren P1 GTR, a track only hyper car will be officially unveiled at the 85th Geneva Motor Show, this year. The McLaren P1 GTR that has got astounding looks has undergone weight saving measures with its petrol electric drivetrain optimized to suit the track. The power to weight ratio in the P1 GTR has been increased by 10 percent over McLaren’s road going model.

The company could achieve this by deploying motorsport-derived technology. The track only model has tested at extreme conditions at several locations in UK and European countries. The car has been further designed to enhance cooling and aerodynamics over the design concept unveiled at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

In the coming months, the car will be further finetuned in terms of driving dynamics, performance and aerodynamics. The handling balance will also be finetuned to ensure that the McLaren P1 GTR befits the iconic GTR title.

In the coming days, the McLaren P1 GTR Driver Programme will commence, where the super car drivers will be invited at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, UK.
