Toyota has at last launched the invigorated Land Cruiser Prado in India. The efficient SUV was first revealed at Frankfurt Motor show last year and it recently made its India debut at the Auto Expo in February this year. The Land Cruiser Prado facelift is priced at Rs 92.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is the third update given to the current-generation premium luxury SUV, which was originally unveiled back in 2009.

The updated Prado now comes with a new hood, fenders, grille, projector headlamps and LED tail-lamps. It also gets a revised front and rear bumper design. The cabin on the refreshed model now comes with a deeply updated console, instruments and also gets a new 8.0-inch infotainment screen with panoramic view screen that’s mounted low to improve outward visibility. It also gets heated and ventilated front seats.

For India, the Land Cruiser Prado will be available with the same 3.0-litre diesel engine as the outgoing model. This motor delivers 170hp and 410Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed auto gearbox. The 4 wheel drive system comes with 3 modes – comfort, normal and sport. Toyota will continue to sell the model in India as a fully imported unit, just like its predecessor.
