Toyota Vios (Toyota Yaris Ativ) teased
Toyota has released the first teaser of the Toyota Vios ahead of its Indian debut at Auto Expo 2018 on 7 February 2018. The new sedan is a Maruti Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna rival. The India-spec Toyota Vios is the low-cost version of the Toyota Yaris Ativ. The sedan measures 4,425mm long, 1,730mm wide and 1,475mm tall, and has a 2,550mm wheelbase. The worldwide-spec model is accessible with 133mm ground clearance, but that could be increased for the Indian market. The internationally available version has a 133 mm ground clearance, but the Indian-spec version should offer more ground clearance to better tackle our poor roads.
The Indian-spec Toyota Vios is probable to get draw power from a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine that produces 105 bhp and 140 Nm of torque. The basic configurations are likely to have a 5-speed manual transmission and the high-end configurations should get a CVT. The latter is expected to feature a dual-tone interior with a black dashboard and beige upholstery. Toyota could offer the 1.4-litre diesel unit which powers the Etios. The diesel engine develops 67bhp and 170Nm of torque and comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Toyota could add the CVT gearbox choice on the diesel model for the Indian market.
Among the Toyota Vios features, the sedan is expected to come with projector headlamps with LED light guides, LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights, keyless entry, engine start/stop button, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, touchscreen infotainment system and reverse parking camera. The Toyota Vios’ key features should include projector headlamps with LED light guides, LED DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, tail lamps with LED detailing, shark fin antenna, keyless entry, engine start/stop button, automatic climate control, rear armrest, rear AC vents, touchscreen infotainment system and reverse parking camera.
