TaxiForSure rolls out Tata Nano cabs in Bengaluru, to cost less than auto fares

A company backed by Nest co-founder Tony Fadell is taking Andy Rubin's startup to court.

If you are in Bengaluru and depend mostly on auto richshaws to commute to your office, then TaxiFor Sure, a cab service provider has come up with a good deal for you. Commuters in Bengaluru will now have the option of travel with more comfort through this organized cab service. TaxiForSure has been co-founded by Ragunandan G, Aprameya Radhakrishna and Arvind Singhal is the Chief Operating officer of the company.

Tata Nano taxis will cost Rs. 25 for the first 2 kms and Rs. 10 per km thereafter. Currently, the auto rickshaw drivers in Bengaluru charge Rs 25 for first 1.9 kms and then Rs 13/km thereafter. TaxiForSure will offer this 24 hour service through its 100 leased Tata Nanos in Bengaluru and as the company’s operations grows, the service will be rolled out in other cities as well.

Commuters can avail cab facilities within minutes through the TaxiForSure app and mobile site in the ‘Pick Now’ option.

In October 2014, Carzonrent , a car rental firm and Tata Motors had signed a deal to provide ‘self-drive’ option to their customers in Delhi/NCR region at Rs. 399 per day. As per the initiative, Tata Motors would provide 200 Tata Nano Twist cars to the car rental firm for self-drive service in Delhi/NCR region.

In January 2013, the state transport department in Jammu and Kashmir had received applications from private players, intending to introduce Tata Nano in the taxi segment. After calling for proposals from private players, the state government had allotted black, red and white colors for Tata Nano cabs.
