Volkswagen has launched a limited special edition model of the Polo 1.0, called the Polo Pace, priced at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Based on the mid-spec Comfortline trim, the Polo Pace is capable of with a new set of 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels; the standard variant is sold with steel rims.

Amazingly, even with the addition of alloy wheels, VW has priced the Pace Rs.11, 700 inexpensive than the standard Comfortline variation, which could be a move to push sales. Recently, the carmaker also downsized the Polo’s engine without making any changes to the prices. The prior 1.2-litre petrol engine of the Polo was substituted with a smaller 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder motor. At 76hp, the maximum output of the engine is up by 1hp, while at 95Nm, the torque has been compromised by a good 20Nm. VW also claims to have bettered the fuel economy by 2kpl.
