The special edition of Polo hatchback has been launched in Germany which is priced at around 15,200 Euros which is around INR 11.5 lakhs. The Lounge edition is launched with a range of variations. There are a lot of specifications which the customers can opt for. For the customers who want their Polos to be distinguished, there is an availability of R-line range also.

Talking about the exterior, the Lounge edition is customized with a gloss black grille, 15-inch alloys and tinted rear windows. Talking about the interior, there is a  contrasting silver/grey finish for the centre console, Tartan uphostery, leather wrapped steering wheel, gearknob, and hand-brake lever.  We can also find ‘Climatronic’ climate control, auto-dimming rear view mirror (inside) and a 6-speaker infotainment system in the interior.

Cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, fatigue detection system and ‘coming home’ are some features which enable the headlamps to be on for a few seconds after you leave the car so that they guide you to home from the driveway. These are some features which complete standard features list. In order to  differentiate it from the regular Polo, Volkswagen has made sure to include ‘Lounge’ badges for the exterior and special floor mats for the interior.

Apart from this, the two styling packages, namely R-Line and Lounge Plus bring larger alloys (17-inch and 16-inch, respectively). The R-Line consists of certain additional features like new bumpers and rear spoilers whereas the Lounge Plus has features like LED headlamps which differentiate it from the other models.

The Polo Lounge is gifted with unique exterior embellishments and a choice of four petrol (59-109bhp) and three TDI engines (74-104bhp). Prices start at €15,200 (INR 11.5 lakh) for the five-speed 1.0-litre model and rise to €20,375 (INR 15.5 lakh) for the 89bhp TDI with DSG.

There is an extra exterior kit which differentiates the Polo Lounge from its siblings which include dark red rear lights, silver 6J x 15 ‘Novara’ alloy wheels, gloss black front grille, ‘Lounge’ badges and dark-tinter rear windows. Coming to the interiors, there is a presence of  ‘Deep Inox’ centre console inlays, ‘Tartan’ upholstery, leather-trimmed steering wheel, gearknob and handbrake lever, and ‘Lounge’ floor mats.

There are some other standard equipment features like front fog lights, ‘coming home’ headlight function, rain-sensing wipers, fatigue detection system, ‘Climatronic’ climate control, auto-dimming interior mirror, cruise control and six speaker ‘Composition Colour’ infotainment system which enhance the new Polo and distinguishes it from the regular Polo.

There are some other enhancement packages like the R-Line styling package which comprises of colour-coded rear spoiler, ‘R-Line’ badging, ‘R-Line’ bumpers, and 7J x 17 ‘Mallory’ alloy wheels. A ‘Lounge Plus’ package is also available which consists of  ‘Salvador’ 7J x 16 alloy wheels, LED headlights, headlamp washers, and a low washer fluid level warning light.
